Who We Are

Picture of the old Buckhead United Methodist Church 2nd Building 1887
The earliest history of the foundation of a Black Methodist Church in Ruffin, South Carolina, which can be authenticated, took place before the turn of the century in 1881. This Black Methodist Church was Buckhead United Methodist Church.
Buckhead has been in existence for 126 years serving and working with the Ruffin community. Ruffin is one of the two churches on the Ruffin Parish of the Walterboro District of the United Methodist Church. Our District Superintendent is the Rev. Ernest C. Etheredge and our bishop is Bishop Mary Virginia Taylor.
We are a people church and cater to the needs of the community, members and passers by. We are right on the road and our doors are always open so if ever you desire to experience Jesus just stop by the church sometime.
